My main aim in life has always been to help people and this was the main reason I got involved in financial services. I joined the industry 30 years ago working for one of the UK’s largest insurers where I learned my craft and then, 10 years later, set up my own business which I ran successfully for eight years.

My world suddenly changed in a moment, as I suffered a heart attack in my early forties, at a point when my business was at its peak. I urgently needed to re-evaluate not only my personal life but also my business life. My critical illness policy kicked in which helped ease the financial burden, I got myself back to normal health, I started working in wealth management services eleven years ago and I am now fitter than I have ever been before.

My aim to help people outside of my work has also been fulfilled when the Prince’s Trust asked if I would mentor young people in business, which I am extremely grateful for and proud of the results I am achieving.

I feel that these experiences have helped me grow as a family man and individual by changing my outlook on life and work by finding that balance. Having my own business previously has definitely helped me to understand my clients’ problems and the issues that they face on a daily basis and by helping them also plan for that balance now and into retirement.

I have found that most of my clients had an idea of where they wished to be financially now and in the future but needed a confidant/adviser that they trust, offers great service and who can guide them honestly with a plan of action personal to them.

In many cases, there have been no concrete financial plans in place. I help my clients through many discussions and with a reporting system that I have developed that simply explains what needs to be done to achieve their goals. I’ve used this report on myself too and the results speak for themselves.

I hope that my story and experience will be of interest and I invite you to contact me for more information on how my team and I can help you establish financial security to live the life you want into retirement.
